Perendale x Texel x Romney

Possibly our most popular cross bred choice, we really rate these sheep.

These were first bred by mating top Texel x Romney rams over the outstanding Romdale ewe hoggets we had coming through. The results were so good we have continued with them, are breeding more and more and are now stabilizing this cross as a breed.

Their make-up is therefore 1/4 Perendale, 1/4 Texel, 1/2 Romney.

The addition of the Texel genetics brings a real boost in terms of meaty back-ends and the ability to finish lambs quickly and easily.

The Perendale brings the vigour and hardiness for which that breed is renowned, while the Romney base provides structure, constitution, and a good solid frame.
