We are happy to transfer all offered lots to new or existing Angus studs. Please let us know by email or phone as soon after the conclusion of the sale as possible if you wish to transfer purchased lots.

As noted in the catalogue, there will be an additional charge of $100 added to the price of transferred lots - this is because the Angus Association charge Meadowslea for the time spent administering these transfers. Please also note this is in addition to the transfer fee charged to the purchaser by the Angus Association.

Transfers through the NZ Angus Association are required to be sire verified and tested free of the four main genetic defects. All the age-groups except the 10-year cows are already sire verified, and that age-group's sire verification is currently pending.

Once the sale is finished the lots that are to be transferred are submitted for gene defect testing. Zoetis already hold samples on all animals, and we obtain a backup sample before loading.

It sometimes happens that there is insufficient stored genetic material to test four all 4 gene defects - in that situation we submit the backup sample. Occasionally, there might still be insufficient material, in which case we might need to ask the purchaser to obtain a third sample after they have been delivered.

If for any reason there is an animal which is unable to be transferred - ie in unlikely event we have an unexpected defect carrier or sire verification isn't possible - we will take the animal back and reverse any payment.
